Welcome to Ash Cottage

Welcome to Ash Cottage

Ash Cottage is a cosy tranquil detached cottage for two. The cottage is set within our own 20 acres, located in the hamlet of Skelwith, with close proximity to the magnificent scenery of both the Great Langdale and Little Langdale Valley.

The iconic Langdale Pikes at the head of Great Langdale are clearly visible from the cottage patio and garden, which also provides a stunning 360-degree view of all the surrounding fells. Due to it’s peaceful, elevated setting in the heart of the Lake District National Park, there is an abundance of wildlife and birdlife in the vicinity and an unrivalled opportunity to view some wonderful sunsets over the Pikes and Crinkle Crags.

Centrally located in the heart of the Lake District National Park, yet away from the crowds, all attractions are within easy reach.

Local Area

  • Walking – Some of the finest walking in the Lakes is to be had from the cottage, where a garden gate and path across an adjoining field enable guests to access Black Crag, Tarn Hows and the beginning of Little Langdale among many other great walks.
  • Well stocked village shop in Chapel Stile
  • Excellent pubs and restaurants nearby including the “Drunken Duck” & Chesters Cafe, a visitors favourite.
